There are a number of ways to learn more. You can choose a course to study. Take the route of reading business books as self education. There is the option of finding a coach or mentor or both.

Isn’t That Just About Selling Other People’s Products?
Many business owners are still laboring under the misconception that internet marketing is just affiliate marketing.
If we look at the two words though internet and marketing – marketing is all of the processes to promote a product or service and the internet is a medium through which to do it. It may be a revelation to some that internet marketing is just marketing using a different medium.
It can include so many things other than affiliate marketing including domaining, flipping, product creation and sales, content, press releases and more.
It’s Not Magic
There is not some magical spell that makes a website make sales online. Like anything it is a process, a system. It requires all of the pieces to be working together not just building a website.
Another web based business consultant answered that business needed to not entrust their marketing to a website designer. I can’t imagine many would allow their business card designer or printer to manage their marketing so why give it to a web designer. Web designers design websites

One reason businesses fail to learn more is that a single minded focus on the website prevents them from seeing what they need to know.
Online marketing – it’s not about the website.
Successfully marketing your business online is about driving customers and profits through your doors. You need to be asking how can I increase my customer base, how can I increase sales, how can I increase the profit per sale and return business. Then ask how you can do that online!
That is the focus you need to have to effectively learn more about growing your business online.
